Slips the Mind
A mark of Status
The grand hall
Well before time
Advance booked
The grand attire,
For the occasion
Menu
Well planned,
Prepared
The list of invitees
Decided
Help enlisted
Grand day arrives
The boy in question
The hero of the occasion
Is called upon to be;
In his best manners
In befitting candor
Smiles and speaks
Half the number
As known as
Birch from Cedar
Till jaws ache
Smile pinned
As evening from morn
Slowly edged in time…..
Custard…..’custard apple’
Apple of every eye around
Clad in ornamental finery
The Bride…..
Shy?
This out dated
Coy, perhaps
More to say
Tell me said the groom
To his bride,
How are the arrangements?
With a twinge of pride
How oft weddings are planned to perfection
Yet a marriage of hearts and mind
Slips the mind
