Your Eyes Weary and Sore

Timidly turning away your eyes
A silent serenade deep within me
Underneath the dusky skies, no more lies
My words stuck in tension, I’m down on my knees

Crying out to you
Calling out you’re name
Can’t you see we’re one
Can’t you see we’re the same?

I wish you would be mine
But now you’re gone
I can only wish there was a way
To undo all that I’ve done

I’ve gone astray, can’t find it anymore
What have I done?
Where have I gone?

Your eyes haunting me
Keeping me awake
In an endless sea
I cry out for all my mistakes

We’ve been through this so many times before
But I just want to let you know, I’m yours
I can’t live without you, not anymore
Got to get through this, no matter what you say

I can’t put the past away
Can’t put the past away
No matter what you say
I can’t put the past away
Can’t put the past away

I can put the lies aside
And with my eyes open wide
Singing an unheard serenade
About a girl I betrayed
About a girl I truly love

Everything I’ve ever made
Torn to pieces, but I can restore
Everything I’ve ever destroyed

Look into your eyes, weary and sore
Your anger fading into the void
Your face finally brightened
Your eyes enlightened

Is this the end of love gone astray
Laying in decay?
Is this the day
When we put the past away?

Your eyes weary and sore
Because I’ve gone astray
Your eyes weary and sore
But we can put the past away

Your eyes weary and sore
But we don’t have to live like this anymore
The end of love laying in decay
If we can put the past away
If we put the past away

Your eyes weary and sore
But I can restore
Everything I’ve ever destroyed
Your eyes weary and sore

If you could put the past away
Your eyes, weary and sore,
Gloomy and grey, you can’t see
Give me another chance to enlighten you

Make you as happy as you used to be
And make these eyes, weary and sore
Sparkling again, make them see
You don’t have to be alone, not anymore
